Caribou Hunt

Alaskan Caribou Hunt August 2000

Hunting is more than a hobby for me. It's a passion, one of the ways to enjoy God's creation. In this album, I've assembled some of my favorite photographs that were taken when Al Salsman, his son Jesse and I went on our Alaskan Hunt in August 2000.

We flew in with 40-Mile Air, out of Tok AK, to the headwaters of 70 mile river. This is in the Alaskan Interior located midway between Eagle and Chena Hot Springs. Our main goal was Dall sheep but due to early winter in that region, they had already migrated to their winter grounds. The caribou were all around our camp and we each took one. That was over 600 pounds of meat to bring back home.

Now, enjoy the thrill of the hunt with me.
